A Study on Fatigue in Military Nursing Services

Abstract
The author conducted this study to find out degree of fatigue of nurses working at military hospital during the period of August 1 through August 31 1973.
In order to measure the subjective symptoms of fatigue, the investigator applied an evaluation form of fatigue, designed by the labour & Health institute of Japan, and measurement of Accommodation power which was carried out with prince-rule method, by means of objective measurement of fatigue before and duty.
The evaluation form of fatigue contains three systems; physical, mental, & neuro-sensory fatigue with 10 items each.
1.The physical & mental fatigues were the highest on Thursday and Neuro-sensory fatigue was the highest on Wednesday.
2. There was no significant defference of physical fatigue by service years higher frequency of mental fatigue was observed shorter service group of nurses but neuro-sensory fatigue was higher in head nurses or nurses in charge.
3. Higher frequency of physical fatigue was complained by the nurse who had more than 20 patients.
There ware no significant different in mental and neuro-senosry fatigue.
4. The higher the height of heel, the more frequrency & physical neuro-sensory fatigue was observed.
5. Higher physical and neuro-sensory fatigue were observed in the evening duty, but higher mintal fatigue was observed in the night duty.
